Touching the Cloud

While all the hype in Sage circles may be around Sage Business Cloud and the freshly re-branded Sage 300cloud, the reality is that many sites are likely to remain 'on premises' for years to come. 

These businesses still have some great opportunities to reach for the clouds, while keeping their feet firmly planted in the server room.

Our 'Touching the Cloud' article provides multiple examples of how well-known cloud-based platforms can be integrated into the daily operations of a 'classic' Sage 300 site, often with a gentle helping hand from Orchid modules.

Most of the examples we give, including integration of Sage 300 with LinkedIn, Microsoft Teams, Twitter, SMS and email, are dynamically demonstrated in our Collaboration in Action video.  If you missed our recent Webinar we invite you to find 30 minutes or so to read the article and watch the video.

v2019 is on its way!

Hot on the heels of the Sage 300 v2019 release earlier this week, we've started uploading v2019 compatible versions of all Orchid modules to our website. EFT Processing has already been released, and other modules will follow over the next few days.

 
  • v2019 Activation Codes for all clients who were current as at 20-Aug-2018 will be sent to the nominated contact of each business partner over the next couple of weeks. They can then forward them to their consultants.
  • If you can't wait for your codes to arrive you can always use the v2019 NFR codes, available on our website, or contact us.
  • Consistent with Sage policy, we only support the 3 most recent versions of our software. Accordingly, v2016 modules will no longer be supported from 1-Jan-2019.
Other Product News
  • Our "Recent Updates to Orchid Modules" article lists multiple enhancements we've made to various modules in recent months, often with little fanfare, to meet the needs of specific partners. Check it out to see which might be of use to your clients.
  • Many people have asked us about adding grid fields to Sage 300 screens using Extender OCX scripts. This capability should be available within the next week. Expect to hear more in our September newsletter.
